What is OPAI?

The National Professional body of Prosthetics & Orthotics was established in the year 1979 under the Indian Societies Registration Act and was named as Orthotics & Prosthetics Society of India (OPSI). Later the title was restructured as Orthotics & Prosthetics Association of India (OPAI) for the administrative conveniences. OPAI has been the platform for academic developments and to bring all Prosthetics & Orthotics Professionals together. OPAI-being the only apex body of P&O Professionals in India conducted 27 National Conferences, many CREs and Workshops. As a professional Association, OPAI endeavours to maintain high standards for professional practices in India in the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics. OPAI is actively involved in standardization of Prostheses, Orthoses and Mobility devices in the Bureau of Indian Standard as the member of technical Committee. The choice of every passed out P&O Professional is OPAI and thus functioning with strength of maximum number of P&O Professionals of India.

30th OPAI Conference 2027 – Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh
